Heo Seong-moo Leads Launch of Election Committee Prioritizing Citizens' Will

The 'Election Committee According to Citizens' Will,' supporting Song Sun-ho, the Changwon mayoral candidate for the Democratic Party of Korea, officially launched on the 10th. National Assembly member Heo Seong-moo will chair the committee, signaling the start of election campaigning.

This election committee embodies candidate Song's determination to conduct the election by prioritizing citizens' opinions. Regarding the reason for naming the committee 'According to Citizens' Will,' Song Sun-ho explained, "It is to listen to the citizens' will first and conduct the campaign in the direction citizens desire, rather than one driven by politics." He added, "This committee is not a superficial organization, but a grassroots campaign structure that gathers on-site voices from all over Changwon and connects citizens' demands to pledges and actions," vowing to lead a campaign that emphasizes policies directly impacting citizens' lives.

At the launching ceremony, appointment certificates were presented to the committee members who will lead the campaign, and citizen representatives presented candidate Song with a token symbolizing their commitment to 'upholding the will of the citizens.'

National Assembly member Heo Seong-moo has taken the role of General Standing Committee Chairperson, and former Changwon Mayor Gong Min-bae is serving as Honorary Standing Committee Chairperson. The committee's structure has been strengthened with the participation of various figures, including Park Jeong-han, head of the Gyeongnam Regional Branch of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions, as co-chairpersons. The committee boasts a broad membership, including former vice mayors, district office heads, as well as representatives from labor, civic society, religious circles, academia, and policy experts. Furthermore, a separate policy committee composed of local university professors and a special advisory team for strategic industries have been established, indicating that this organization is focused not just on campaigning, but on jointly preparing for Changwon's future vision.
