With a general strike threatened by Samsung Electronics' union just ten days away, the company and the union will meet again at the National Labor Relations Commission starting today (11th) for two days to resume negotiations. Both sides had previously attempted mediation at the labor commission in February but failed to narrow their differences, leading to the suspension of mediation in early March.

These negotiations represent the parties coming back to the table for dialogue with a strike as their last resort. The general strike is scheduled for the 21st. In response, the company had filed an injunction with the court to prohibit illegal labor disputes, and the court hearing for this injunction is scheduled for the 13th.

During this post-mediation process, mediators will propose a resolution for the specific dispute issues. The disagreements have centered on whether to allocate a certain percentage of operating profit as performance bonuses and whether to implement this arrangement annually over the long term.
