KOSPI Enters 7800 Era with Record 4% Surge

The KOSPI index surged over 4% on the 11th, breaking the 7800 mark for the first time in its history to reach a record high. The KOSPI closed at 7822.24 for the day, an increase of 324.24 points (4.32%) from the previous trading day.

This rise is attributed to a significant increase in semiconductor exports and corporate earnings. Semiconductor stocks led the index's ascent. SK Hynix closed up 11.51% at 1.88 million won, and Samsung Electronics finished 6.33% higher at 285,500 won.

On the KOSPI market, individual investors were net buyers, purchasing 2.8695 trillion won worth of stocks and driving the index's rise. Institutions also bought a net 625.6 billion won, while foreign investors were net sellers, offloading 3.4882 trillion won.

Meanwhile, the KOSDAQ index closed down 0.38 points (0.03%) at 1207.34 on the same day.
